Guess what? I finally got off my ass!

Cafe Bastille is finally fiished! How long have I had the pieces for this done? (And really, it was only three pieces. I'm pathetic.)

You can't see the detail very well on this, but a few entries back I posted the body when I finished it, and the cabling really shows up there.

Naturally, the flash washed the color out of all of my Kool-Aid shots, but you get the idea. I keep meaning to make more, but my monumental laziness prohibits me from winding my skeins into hanks. Perhaps I should lay off the Mary Jane for a bit. ;)

The purple is the one that I thought would be vile, but actually turned out to be very nice. It's not as plummy as the picture shows it.

And finally,

Just to show that I am working on something. I just need to pick up stitches and speed down the foot. Then I'm going to make some tank tops!

that sweater is absolutely beautiful!!!!

i would love to do koolaid dying, but in all honesty, i've admitted to myself i don't have the time, money, time, or time to do it.

i started knitting an 18 month sweater for my daughter - what was i thinking?? 18 months is in the middle of summer!! so i'm gonna unravel it and make somethin else with the purple and white yarn.

Thanks! The second I saw the sweater on the cover of IK, I knew I had to make it. I love those cables!

Kool-Aid dying would be a piece of cake if it weren't for winding the skeins into hanks. Plus, I'm anal about it, so I have to measure off how many yards I have. As for the cost, Kool-Aid packets are pretty cheap, but I did drop something like $15.00 on Kool-Aid one day. Maybe wait until your kids get older, and let them do it for a craft project. :)

I almost started a sweater for my youngest nephew, and then I remembered the season, too. Is the yarn wool, or could you use it in a tee shirt or lightweight cardigan?

You'd get some amusing pictures, at the very least!

the KoolAid dyes look yummy!
I especially like that turquoise one. What flavors did you use, if you remember?

Have fun with the sock knitting.... I have one on my needles as well.

Re: the KoolAid dyes look yummy!
You know, the Kool-Aid people give everything such wacky names now, I'm not sure. I do remember that it started out blue, which seems to be an anomoly within the Kool-Aid soft drink line. Next time I'll write down flavors.

I plan to do more socks when it gets hot. They're great summer projects, because even when they're almost full size, they're still not laying in your lap like a cat!
