Pattern: Saartje's Bootees (look in the sidebar)
Yarn: Woolen Rabbit sock yarn in Leaf Peeper
Needles: US2
FO Entry: If you're interested....
Quick Notes: These booties were super fast, and they're super cute! Perfect last minute gift. Though be advised, sock yarn and US2 needles make a TINY bootie. I'm pretty sure the baby's only going to wear them once, but at least her parents can admire them!
Pattern: Cassidy by Bonne Marie Burns for ChicKnits
Yarn: Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed in Treasure
Needles: US7
FO Entry: Right here!
Quick Notes: Unfortunately, I made this sweater a size large on purpose, and then lost some weight, so it doesn't fit at all. It's so gorgeous though, and was so much fun, I'm sure I'll make another!
The sweetest little cardi ever.
Pattern: Peapod Baby Set, Kate Gilbert (no longer available)
Yarn: Nashua Creative Focus Cotton DK, color 245
Needles: Oh jeez... I'm not sure. It took me a freaking year to get this done!
FO Entry: Here ya go!

Pattern: Ribby Pulli by Bonne Marie Burns, in the short sleeved hoodie version
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherds Worsted in cedar.
Needles: US6, US5 (As usual, Bonne Marie and I have the exact same gauge! Spooky!)
FO Entry: Right here!

Pattern: Coupling by Deb Barnhill
Yarn: Cascade Yarns Heritage
Needles: US1
FO Entry: Check it out!
Quick Notes: I did my own heel and toes, but I think that was the only modification I made. The stitch pattern was fun, and I love how it looks stretched on my foot. The yarn was a total dream to knit. It's soft and squishy, and also seems like it'll wear really well. Also, and perhaps most importantly, the yarn was completely, absolutely solid! SO hard to find in a decent yarn!

Pattern: Children's Neck Down Bolero, by Knitting Pure and Simple
Yarn: Dream in Color Classy, in Visual Purple
Needles: US7&8
FO Entry: Right here!
Quick Notes: A nice, straightforward pattern. I was looking for something simple and small, and this definitely fit the bill. I don't have a kid to give it to, but whatever! The yarn is dreamy (I slay myself!), and the yardage is incredible. I hardly used the second skein at all, and I'm plotting whether to do some sort of matching hat thing for the bolero, or some snazzy mittens for myself.

Pattern: Wine and Roses Mitts by JoLene Treace from Interweave Knits, Winter 2006
Yarn: Karabella Aurora 4 in beige, less than one ball!
Needles: US4
FO Entry: here!
Quick Notes: None. I tried doing my own thing for the top hem, but it was a miserable failure! I heartily recommend following the pattern. :)
Ravelry details here.

I love dish cloths because they're so fast, and you can use colors that maybe you wouldn't normally, I dunno, be caught dead in but still like. I made this one while watching Stardust.
Pattern: Doily Style Dishcloth
Yarn: Lily Sugar 'n' Cream Stripes in toothache pink
Needles: US7
Quick Notes: I made an error on one row of this pattern, but didn't realize it until two rows later. I thought for a nanosecond about ripping back, but then came to my senses. It's a dishcloth, people. It's a rag made for the purpose of getting filthy. I don't think some misplaced holes are going to kill me.
This one wasn't even blogged, but I do have it stored up for use someday, maybe. We all have those slow times when a project is dragging on and you'd sooner stick a dpn in your ear than talk about it anymore.

So, without further ado...

Pattern: Chevalier Mittens by Tikru (free pattern)
Yarn: Cascade 220, ball band lost long ago
Needles: US4
FO entry: Here!
Quick Notes: These were a fun knit, though there is a small issue with the chart. Anyone with cabling experience will quickly see the problem and be able to fix it (I fixed it without even realizing I wasn't following the chart), but I wouldn't recommend this as a first cabled project.

I do have another livejournal,
( And just because, a picture of my latest WIP. )
I know I had this dream because I am resolved to not buy any more yarn until after my birthday. We are going on a trip for my birthday, and I want to have money to really splurge on all the crap I can eat, and maybe even a couple new yarn store stops. It's so hard not to visit all the favorite online yarn stores every day. I'll probably be frothing at the mouth by the time my birthday comes.
It's a sickness. There should be support groups in the basements of churches.
1. Who did you last get angry with? Hmmm... I'm annoyed a few times a day, every day, but truly angry? Probably someone I work with.
2. What is your weapon of choice? Words. (Good one,
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex? I would never hit anyone without expecting to be hit back. As I wish to avoid being hit, I avoid hitting.
4. How about of the same sex? See above.
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you? I imagine I piss people off every day at work.
7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily? Yeah I hold grudges. You gotta problem with that?
( I just realized this is really long. )

Whether through ferocity or quickness, you made it out. You made the right choice most of the time, but you probably screwed up somewhere. Nobody's perfect, at least you're alive. |
